FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - CANADA

Job description

 

Department: Service Department

 

Reports to: Service Manager Canada

 

Full time

 

Job Summary: Responsible for repairing, maintaining, calibrating, adjusting, and installing B149.1:20 Burner Management Systems, CWT dry line heaters. Other responsibilities will include consulting with customers to determine tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, and other variables in manufacturing and processing. Participate in the stopping and tapping on HPNG lines being performed using the Kleiss system along with Repairs of Sensit gas

detection equipment.

 

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Completes all required training
  • Completes all required safety documentation and actively participates in See Something, Say Something safety culture
  • Inspect and test operation of equipment systems to diagnose faults
  • Calibrate components and instruments
  • Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new equipment and processes
  • Ensure that the required maintenance activities are completed in a manner that promotes safety as the first priority
  • Stays current with applicable government regulations
  • Actively participates in the implementation and daily routines of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System
  • Attend monthly safety meetings with Service Manager Canada and Field Technicians
  • Prepare requisition materials and supplies as needed for Service Department, submit to Service Manager Canada
  • Work with Service Manager Canada to prepare quotes for customers as needed
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity to Service Manager Canada
  • Actively participates and cooperates with internal/external ISO Audits
  • Kleiss system understanding and performance
  • Perform Kleiss tap and stop procedures for natural gas pipeline work
  • Perform service and maintenance on CWT Heaters
  • Prepare reports- Submittal of expenses, KM Logs, ISNet, WSIB hours on monthly bases
  • Fosters a spirit of cooperation between co-workers, operators, trades,and technical staff to achieve overall goals
  • Perform repairs of Sensit Instruments as requested.
  • Inventory management, ensure all inventory is logged when removed or restocked to service trucks
  • Provide complete reports (Service Fusion), within 24-48hrs after site completion to Service Manager Canada
  • Regular maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of work experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • First aid and H2S certificates required
  • G2 license for gas
  • CSE- Confined Space Entry
  • CSE- Confined Space Entry Rescue

  • Working in excessive of 12 hours when necessary to complete a time/safety sensitive task
  • Ability to safety tow trailer with service vehicles

 

Work Conditions

  • Fast-paced environment
  • Manual dexterity
  • Lifting/moving up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular travel is necessary (20,000 to 50,000 kms annually), valid driver’s license a necessity.
  • Weather- Excessive heat, cold and raining conditions
  • Driving in excess of 8 to 10 hours
  • Working out of cellular coverage, remote locations

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Niagara Falls, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

 

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

 

Experience:

  • Service Technician: 2 years (preferred)

 

Licence/Certification:

  • G2 Gas fitter License (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (required)
  • Confined Space Certification (preferred)

 

Willingness to travel:

  • 75% (preferred)

 

Work Location: In person
