- Both powder and paint adhere best when applied to a clean product.
- Blasting removes any old finish, rust, dirt, or oil.
- It leaves a slightly rough surface which the finish can adhere to.
Sandblasting is a very common method of cleaning and maintaining a wide variety of surfaces, mainly due to its high effectiveness. It can be used on a wide range of surfaces, and is good for removing residues, rust, old paint, and many other impurities. It can also be used for peening, decorating, and deburring.
But the primary purpose we use this method at Tecvalco is in the preparation process for powder coating or painting. The sandblasting removes all the old layers of paint, decay, rust, etc and gets the surface ready for the application.
